    PACES recognizes the importance of hands-on management and how critical it is to have qualified people on the ground in Palestine. To that end, the Board of Trustees has hired the following:




     

    Philip Schatz -Deputy Executive Director, Operations & Procurement

    Philip joined PACES in March 2010 after 5 years at Mercy Corps, where he served as Director, Material Aid. Philip has worked in the international development field for over 25 years and has fulfilled a number of functions at different humanitarian aid organisations in administration functions and at the senior management level and brings a wealth of experience in operations and procurement with him.

    Philip’s key objectives are to build a base of corporate in-kind contributors, participate in the development of strategic planning, and the development of PACES livelihoods creation programs.

    Abeer Zalatimo – Regional Director

    Abeer began her tenure as the Regional Director in August of 2009. A committed sports advocate, Abeer has been playing basketball at different levels since 1990, both in Palestine and internationally. Prior to arriving at PACES, Abeer worked at different national and international organizations where she developed substantial experience in management and knowledge of sports in Palestine.  Abeer holds an MBA degree from George Mason University with a concentration in Sports Management from George Washington University (2007); and a graduate degree in Business Administration from Birzeit University (1996).

    Ahmad Bukhari - Director of the Sports Programs.

    Ahmad joined PACES in 2006 and has substantial experience in, and knowledge of sports in Palestine.  Ahmad is well-connected with the sports clubs and community-based centers in which he has been able to develop the PACES’ Palestine programs.  Furthermore, Ahmad’s supervises and develops our Lebanon and Jordan programs and has responsibility for the overseeing the coaching clinics.

    Honey Thaljieh - Assistant Program Director.

    Honey joined PACES team in the year 2006. A graduate of Bethlehem University, she is also the captain of the Palestine Women’s National football team and our senior female coach. Her passion for football allowed her to develop her talents and strengthen her connection with sports clubs. Honey assists Ahmad in in supervising activities at the clubs, managing the Southern Area clubs as well as providing her expertise and mentoring skills to PACES girls. 

    Area Supervisors:Abdalla Zakut a professional football player from Dier El-Balah Camp in Gaza, joined PACES in July 2007 and is  the Gaza area supervisor

    Amin Al-Ahmad a youth sector expert joined PACES in July 2007 and is the supervisor of the Northern region.

    Muntaser Idkidk a motivated sports coordinator and a football player joined PACES in August 2008 and is the Central region area supervisor.

    PACES also hired four Assistant Area Supervisors to assist in their respective regions. Tamer Abu Hijleh, Ahmad Mitwali, Mahmoud Abu Sbieh and Ahmad Barham.

    Technical Supervisors:

    PACES hired committed outstanding coaches who believe in PACES philosophy and overseas the 460 coaches that we have.

    Mohammad Sabbah is the head of the mobile coaching clinics, Jamal Daraghmeh is the Head Football Coach and Ammar Nofal is the Head Basketball Coach. The Technical Coaches and their assistants develop uniform PACES procedures and impart to the new coaches our specific modus operandi and strict code of conduct.
